Happy, colorful, exciting and new! All of these are required to adequately describe the Peggy Jennings Collection for 2001.

As always, Peggy Jennings designs with a myriad of options. One can match, or one can compliment. The extraordinary variety of fabrics provides an infinite number of possibilities. Ombre ribbon lace, circa 1960 is so new looking by itself or topped with a damask taffeta coat embodying the same colors.

The Collection began with a beautiful fringed cashmere tweed and pattern striped scarf that Peggy had made into fabric. A tinge of fringe now touches black and white silk checks, ultra suede appliquéd tulle, and Paris pink wool, as well as the tweed cashmere. The Paris pink fringed wool mixes with tissue cashmere district checks in lavender and pink, while the black and white silk checks mix with black ground floral silk matelasse. Printed chenille pairs with paletted silk chiffon. Combinations, you have to see to believe. 

Jackets are toppers for dresses, pants or skirts, but the skirt hems this season are feminine and flirty. Circle skirts, as well as pleated skirts add movement, newness and softness. These silhouettes interpret well into silk chiffon, as well as beautiful and fluttery, floral jacquard silk. The mix of tailored tops with soft, fluid bottoms is magically feminine.
